Although there is exceptional beauty in every season, without a doubt or any hesitation for me autumn is particularly special, and I consider it the most beautiful season. The mixture of colours are both vibrant and soothing, the temperatures are not extreme, and although we have shaken off the relaxed and slower pace of summer, I personally feel that during autumn there is a perfect balance of a lively force to get back to work and a reminder to take on slowly the changes in the landscape and to enjoy life.
I doubt I need to tell you what inspired us to create our first table linens, it is undeniable that autumn was the source of inspiration. It is during my morning walks that inspiration usually knocks at my door, and it was walking along an avenue lined by mighty oak trees that the idea of this collection came to me.
Although it is an uncomplicated design, every part of it has been carefully selected and evokes a memory. It is not by accident that these tablecloth and napkins came to be.
Our concept design was to create something quite organic, comforting, strong yet feminine and soft. Being under those fabulous trees, surrounded by a soft breeze and seeing how the curvy leaves float in a perfect dance from their branches to the ground creating a soft carpet, we knew we needed to do very little else.
Every single leaf, each acorn and individual line was drawn by hand. It was mere joy scattering all those leaves across the table and seeing how each detail made them unique and perfect; it was for this reason that we opted to give them a block printing effect. Block printing give that imperfect and unique elegance and grace that we were so keen to translate into the design.
I hope you enjoy our Grace Collection as much as we do. It was a real delight seeing it taking form, and now that these beautiful linen tablecloths and napkins are ready to be enjoyed on many tables, being part of my occasions and gatherings, makes me feel proud and happy but most of all, makes me feel very grateful, specially thankful for those who made these tablecloths and napkins a reality.
